Sun Gardens and The Arboretum, Dubrovnik

Whilst the recipient of many awards for its design, Sun Gardens Hotel near Dubrovnik, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World, is not content to "rest on its laurels" and is ever seeking to make improvements in the experience offered to its guests. 

HED's enhancement of the existing landscape improves the experience of arrival and way finding, as well as the underlying sense of place that is a Mediterranean coastal village, with its alleys and courtyards through which a more indigenous and textured planting is encouraged. 

Building on that sense of place is The Arboretum Hotel inspired by the historic Trsteno Arboretum nearby and offering the highest level of experience. A new sort of luxury hotel, it is set in a former quarry face falling into the Adriatic, through which drift the Oaks and Cypress trees that characterise the local landscape.
