HED fulfilled two important roles in working on the masterplanning and design of the new runway and terminal facilities with Grimshaw Architects, developing a layout that responds sensitively to its countryside setting and undertaking the Landscape and Visual Assessments of the new design.

This was a large scale study with sub-regional airspace studies extending over an area from the Chilterns AONB to the Dedham Vale AONB and the east coast.

HED’s input at Stansted complements its wider work at Heathrow and Gatwick as part of its BAA Framework.
