Chris joined HED in June 2001 bringing with him special expertise in both landscape planning and design fields and was made Director at Hyland Edgar Driver in 2012, heading the London Office.
He has been responsible for a diverse range of airport and other projects including the landscape and visual assessment for the Twin River diversion works at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, the design and siting of a new oil exploration office headquarters for BP in Aberdeen and the production of a new landscape strategy and design guidance for Gatwick Airport together with all the built projects that have arisen as a consequence.
With over 15 years of experience Chris has overseen the design and delivery for a wide variety projects including major public realm improvements for St David’s 2, Cardiff, the construction of a new all-weather track at Kempton Park Racecourse as well as urban regeneration projects in Sheffield, Newport and Didcot.
His international experience extends to the landscape design for two airport expansions in India at Mumbai and Bangalore. Within the hotel and leisure sector Chris has been responsible for the detailed landscape design for two hotels in Morocco for Anantara, a Ritz Carlton Resort and Residences in Mauritius and in the construction and oversight of the Jabal Al Akhdar resort & spa hotel in Oman.
Through all his projects Chris demonstrates a pro-active approach to design simplicity and functionality.
