Visitor Experience at Stonehenge Works Nearing Completion
Improvements at Stonehenge
Following improvements around the world heritage site’s visitor’s centre last year, finished to coincide with Summer Solstice celebrations, works are being completed around the coach park and stones turn round areas. The aim is to improve and streamline the visitor experience from arrival at the visitors centre through to the stones, ensuring minimal impact on the sensitive landscape while accommodating the increase visitor numbers. A site specific Chalk grassland seeding mix is being used throughout the works to blend into the existing landscape and provide increased biodiversity, with soils and chalk retained for re-use on site from a sustainability perspective.
