Southall Waterside Phase 'A' Achieves Planning Permission
Redevelopment of Southall Gasworks
The redevelopment of the Southall Gasworks presents a rare opportunity to comprehensively regenerate strategically important and long underused brownfield land in west London which will have significant benefits to the local community, providing circa 3000 new dwellings in a mixed use development.
HED have had a wide ranging role with the Southall Waterside project for St James, Berkeley Group, including the testing and refinement of the concept masterplan through an intensive sequence of workshops with the client and design team. A series of place-making principles were developed to guide the design as a S73 outline application was developed to improve both the quality and viability of the site, resulting in permission being granted earlier this year.
Phase A has just acheived planning permission and HED are shortly to commence Phase B commercial hub.
